How brand vision can help you find success

What does it mean to have a brand vision? and in particular, how can it help you reach those bigger goals?

What is Brand Vision

It’s the strategic, aspirational guidance that will allow your business to stay on track, and reach its goals while inspiring your staff and engaging your audience.

In short, it is what you aim to achieve, a clear goal for your business and brand but it’s bigger than your weekly targets or yearly growth plan, it’s the next level, the next step the place you want your brand to be.

Sometimes it’s easy to get lost in the day to day grind, without asking yourself where am I going? What is my goal? Why am I doing this?

In the same way, organizations can plod along for years, going through the motions without having a clear goal or dream for the future.

Now here’s a vision

As a great example, In the early 1980s, Bill Gates of Microsoft issued a vision statement, “A computer on every desk and in every home.”  What a bold, confident and clear vision, but hey they did it.

Every effort they did through their marketing, advertising and customer experience fed into this vision and because of this, it allowed them to achieve that dream.

Take a look at some of these truly inspiring vision statements from some well-known leading brands.

How to develop your own brand vision

It’s not easy to come up with a grand, bold vision statement like Microsoft so considering this, I’m going to ask you some questions to help you get there…

  • Where is your business heading?
  • What do you want to achieve?
  • Where do you see your business in 3 years?
  • What is your absolute business dream?

Use these answers to think about your vision, no matter what your business, think and dream big. Here you can really start to forge a future for your business.

As an example, if your dream is to have one of your brand’s scented candles in every hotel bathroom across Europe, then start mapping out what you would need to do to make this a reality and your brand the number 1 hotel go-to for scented candles.

Empower your employees

Brand vision should not be a shrouded secret, you should use its power to motivate your employees because sharing your brand vision this will only motivate, energize and help your organization reach its desired destination.  After all your employees need a clear understanding of where your business is headed, and it’s amazing how a motivated team can help you achieve business success.

Business success

Making sure that all your business efforts feed into this vision, will help you achieve it.  If you’re spending marketing efforts on something that doesn’t feed back into your overall statement is it worth the expense?
