What’s your Klout score?

What’s your Klout score?

So Klout is this social networking ‘influence’ measurement tool that many of us use to see how cool we are, right? But what is it really? Should us communicators really even be using it?

Check out this article posted today giving the lowdown and skinny on how we can and should be using Klout.

A quick google search for blogs about the service have mixed opinions.

Some recommend it. Some flame it.

*Not so surprising in this digital world we live.*

Some articles slam it, like this one right here.

It should be an important issue to anyone using social media. Unless, of course, you believe in a world where Justin Bieber is actually the most influential human alive.

Some say:

Yes Klout is flawed, but currently it’s the only real contender offering influence metrics.

How does it work? Here how:

Once you’ve hooked up all of your social networks, Klout assigns you a “Klout score.” It also gives you three other measurements:

  • True Reach: How many people you influence
  • Amplification: How much you influence them
  • Network Impact: The influence of your network

What my Kout score says? I’m an focused and consistent “specialist”. I’m influential about Steve Jobs and Slideshare only?…. But what I’m most surprised about is not ranking on shoes…or food… or I don’t know, communications, or gaming!

What do you think of Klout? Do you use it, do you agree with the article, how does the service benefit you?
